What We Believe

We are blessed by the opportunity to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. While we are all in the process of transformation, you will find acceptance wherever you are in your journey of faith. Be assured, we all have a past and we all have a future under God. That future is profoundly different than what we can do for ourselves within our choices without His help, power and presence in our lives. At The Calvary Church you will receive help, support and understanding for your personal process. This amazing discovery of living as the Scripture outlines and has made available is a key part of The Calvary Church experience; that’s why Jesus told “Nic at Night”- You Must Be Born Again. Our doctrinal reality is based on the teaching of the Apostles as is unfolds in the Book of Acts in the New Testament. Core Scriptures in this context are Acts 2:38 and John 3 in the New Birth that Jesus presented to Nicodemus. This is seen in our presentation of Repentance with its life change theme. The practice of Water Baptism by immersion in Jesus Name as seen in Acts 2, 8, 10 and 19 is to see the wonder of Newness of Life as Paul stated in Romans 6. Also, the wonder of the infilling of Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of Speaking in Tongues as presented in the book of Acts 2, 8, 9, 10 and 19 is an amazing reality in the lives of our members.  We hold sacred the reality of the Fruit of the Spirit as the ongoing evidence of the transforming power of God in the life of an individual.

We also are committed to a life that is pleasing to God and consistent with the Transformation that the salvation experience offers and makes available. Life disciplines are a reality in various measures here at TCC as people are on their personal journey of faith. These are rooted in clear Biblical mandates of morality, modesty and personal conduct. We also have local traditions that have proven to be valuable assets to the challenge of life-change. While these are not required, you will note people who are committed to pleasing God and meeting His expectations in their lifestyles.

Finally, we remain committed to our Mission Statement:

“We are a Community of Believers,
Committed to the Process of Making Disciples,
We are Apostolic in Doctrine, Demonstration and Diversity.”
